On the whole, there is ample space in the caravan and awning. But there are times when it will be a bit of a squeeze. With an annex for the awning, you get a few extra square metres in a jiffyIf anyone has their finger on the camper’s pulse, it’s Europe’s largest awning manufacturer, the Danish company Isabella. It’s all about listening to the end customers and developing products on the basis of their experiences.
When it comes to the flexible space extension of the awning, Isabella has listened to its customers and developed two solutions which provide a whole host of benefits and options for today’s campers.
“Annex comes from Latin and is used in English to refer to a side building or extension to a larger property. And yes, the awning is property, and size is always relative,” says Isabella’s Morten Kjeldsen with a smile and a twinkle in his eye.
“But we have developed two types of annexes for the campers’ property,” he continues and explains:
“The ends of our awnings are easily detachable when you want an open view of the countryside outside. Our annexes are designed for quick and easy replacement of one or both ends of the awning as required, giving countless options.
A great many campers have expressed a need for extra storage space for the children’s toys, the family’s sports equipment or assistive technology for disabled campers. An annex does all that.
With an annex or two, you can also create extra sleeping space in next to no time, possibly with an inner tent, if, for example, the kids have friends with them on holiday or guests stay longer than expected.”
Isabella has two types of annexes: Annex-Future and Annex-Tall. Both types are available in the base measurements 280, 230 and 200 cm, so there is a solution for most of Isabella’s awnings. Annex-Future is designed as a low, extra sleeping compartment, hence the inner tent.
“Annex-Tall is, as the name suggests, a taller type of annex. Decent headroom means that it can be used for more than just storage. It also makes an ideal little ‘sun room’: a cosy corner, where you can sit and enjoy your morning coffee. With an inner tent, it becomes a spacious sleeping compartment,” says Morten Kjeldsen and concludes:
“An annex is amazingly easy to erect and can also be zipped on and off as the need arises. All annexes have two zips, so they can be closed off level with the end of the awning if, for example, you wish to hide the kids’ mess or to have access from the outside only. An annex solution is always flexible, functional and easy to manage.”
