New king-size awning from Isabella in short supply
The rapidly growing interest in camping life apparently affects campers’ needs for more spacious awnings. Europe’s leading awning manufacturer, Isabella, which is based in Vejle, Denmark, has experienced a remarkable demand for the company’s new king-size awning, namely the Forum. The interest is so great that the company has already had to face the fact that even though the company has reorganised its production to facilitate the manufacture of more Forum awnings, it will not be able to meet the entire needs of the European market. The Forum awning is very versatile, and it offers much more space than conventional awnings. The Forum awning is 3.5 metres deep as opposed to the standard 2.5-metre awnings. This makes it 10-20 percent larger than Isabella’s Penta, which has up until now been the company’s largest awning. The Penta will still be available throughout 2004 and will remain unchanged. The Forum awning is in fact a one-metre deeper version of traditional awnings. This allows for better space utilisation. It also has other features such as a front that can be recessed one metre, thus providing a kind of covered patio area. It is also possible to recess only half of the front. By means of a partition a small covered patio can be created with room for a table and a couple of chairs. This provides shade and shelter. The front section also has a new design with rounded window sections and a wide, built-in door in one section. The sections are the same size, so the door can be placed wherever is most convenient.
Both inner side sections are removable as opposed to the outer side sections. There is a mosquito net in the right side. In spite of its size the Forum awning is very stable thanks to an extended pole construction, which for instance includes a support pole placed one metre from the front. Colour-wise the Forum awning also stands out with its warm cream-coloured roof and tweed and sky-blue canvas, which is accentuated by a narrow pale blue stripe along the base. The inside of the roof has a new pattern which gives a warm light effect inside the awning. Moreover, the front roof canopy is approximately 30cm wide in the centre, and the canopy sides are tapered towards the ground. Should there be a need for more space – do not despair. An extension is available as an extra item, and it can be placed on either side of the awning. It can be used as an extra compartment or for storage.
