New, revolutionary mesh windscreen from Isabella
Windscreens are usually assembled to keep out the wind and to provide privacy. A desire to simply mark out the plot in front of a caravan combined with the need for a windscreen to protect against the worst of the wind, has led Isabella, the Danish awnings manufacturer, to develop an entirely new concept in windscreens. The new screen, called the Crystal, is described by Isabella’s design department as a friendlier version of the traditional windscreen due to its low height. Unlike traditional windscreens, it doesn’t shut out the outside world – the Crystal is 120 cm in height, compared with other Isabella windscreens, which usually measure 130 or 140 cm. The height of the new screen is not the only thing that sets the Crystal apart - it also has mesh panels along its entire length. The mesh diffuses the air, which counteracts the wind turbulence usually experienced on the inside of standard windscreens. In design terms, the Crystal stands out with its built-in mesh panels, dark blue material and white stripes. The windscreen, which is split into four panels of equal width, measures a total of 460 cm in length. The Crystal, however, doesn’t just look good – it is also extremely stable thanks to the light but very strong CarbonX carbon fibre-reinforced fibreglass poles, both vertical and horizontal, which are fastened by means of individual support feet with separate pegs and steel plates.
The Crystal windscreen can also be combined with Isabella’s Shadow sun canopy to provide protection from both wind and sun. This is a quick, easy solution for travelling caravanners who don’t stay long in any one place and therefore don’t want to go to the trouble of assembling an awning and taking it down the following morning. It is also ideal for motor home owners, as the Crystal is an ideal supplement , in this way, to large attached awnings.
