Isabella introduced its Penta model in 1985 and ever since, it has remained the most elegant and unique awning in Europe.

Twenty years ago, we described the Penta model as follows in our catalogue:

"Isabella Penta – the five-sided shape (giving rise to the Penta name) is a tour de force of construction, producing by far the best stability and space. The sturdy steel tube frame and the actual construction of this awning make it particularly suitable for non-touring caravans. Penta is produced from textured heavy-duty acrylic in new colours. It has a durable polyester roof with a coated exterior and a patterned ceiling. This awning includes all the doors and ventilation options that non-touring caravanners could wish for. We are sure that the new Penta will create quite a stir on caravan sites in 1985 and for many years to come. Penta is an elegant and durable awning for non-touring caravans, remaining impervious to wind and weather for many years.”

Since its introduction, Penta has retained its sound basic design and stability. One significant improvement was made in 1992 when the continuous canopy completed the “beach villa”, and in 1994, the brilliant CosyCorner construction made the canopy self-supporting on the side of the caravan, requiring no external stay rods.

We take a fresh look at Penta and consider how many caravanners, over the years, have had great enjoyment from using this awning. Little did we know at the time how many years this exceptional model was to be included in Isabella’s range of awnings.

After twenty years, we were yet again in a position to write about Penta and note that times change but quality remains.
