Although the Snowboy awning from the Danish Isabella tent factory was essentially designed as a winter awning, many caravanners have discovered that this small, robust awning has many uses outside the actual winter season. Most of all, the Snowboy has successfully dispelled the myth that a winter awning is nothing more than a wind porch or a storage place. That means that many caravanners use the Snowboy en route in the off season, not only because it is easy to erect, but also because it weighs less than a standard awning since it features a door on either side. The Snowboy is extremely sturdy and draught-proof, making it perfectly suitable for use as a standard awning even when the outside temperature is below zero – the design will withstand extreme weather conditions, including storms. The frame features two support poles equipped with foam rubber pads that are pressed against the side of the caravan to protect against draughts. The material is extremely durable, with a high polyester and PVC content. There is ample space for a small table and a couple of chairs inside the Snowboy, and the addition of a small heater will rapidly produce a comfortable indoor temperature. The awning’s solid design, which may be supplemented with an optional winter securing set, features an extremely strong pole system and a durable and smooth awning which allows snow and water to slide off easily. This is combined with a flexible pegging system, with adjustable rubber straps that may be raised or lowered in line with the terrain. The Snowboy is suitable for the majority of caravans on the market. |
