The Danish Isabella factory in Vejle is marking its 50th anniversary with yet another milestone in European awnings. The factory has been a market leader in the development of caravan awnings for almost 50 years, and its products have, unsurprisingly, been described as the most imitated in Europe. During its anniversary year in 2007, the factory will be setting yet another milestone with a very advanced and highly functional awning concept. The flagship product has been dubbed the Vision, and another smaller version known as the Opus will also be available. But these are just some of the exciting new products to be found in Isabella’s extensive 2007 anniversary range, which will be unveiled at caravan shows around Europe during the course of the autumn and winter months. The Vision is a new and highly advanced concept which breaks with conventional ideas of how an awning should look. The three-metre deep awning has been extended at the front with a one-metre canopy to create an integral terrace. The large roof construction above the terrace has roof light panels made of sun-reflecting foil which give good light inside the awning and in the terrace area. The front has been inspired by modern architecture, with floor-to-ceiling windows. The middle panel may be opened, removed or replaced by a ventilation net. The latter should not be necessary since two ventilation nets have already been included in the front along with one in each side. The traditional curtains have been replaced by a highly flexible system of blinds in the front and sides, as well as large ventilation openings in both sides which may be left open even when it rains. The slightly smaller Opus version is 2.5 metres deep and has no terrace canopy. It is easier to erect and is therefore particularly suitable for touring caravanners. It is no exaggeration to say that Isabella’s range of awnings and accessories cover the needs of virtually all caravanners. When it comes to larger awnings, the pentagonal Penta is still a firm favourite with many permanent pitch caravanners thanks to its roominess, stable design and elegant appearance. Those looking for a large and roomy awning which is equally suitable for touring and permanent pitching will find the Forum, which measures 3.5 metres in depth along its entire width, the optimum choice. In addition to its size, both front panels on the Forum may be moved into the awning to create a covered terrace. The front panels are also interchangeable, allowing users to determine where the front door should be placed. Ventilation |
