This time, Tommy Boisen has been out and about to find out just how effective Alpha 123 awning cleaner really is. The awning is an Ambassador 2504 which spent three summers and three winters at Frigaards Camping before the arrival of Tommy and Alpha. To begin with, the awning was carefully hosed down using a garden hose and a medium-hard brush mounted on a long handle. Tommy applied Alpha awning cleaner and loosened the dirt with the brush while allowing the foam to work. Next, the awning was thoroughly hosed down once again to remove all traces of awning cleaner. Tommy only used a single application of Alpha. The entire awning was then water-proofed indoors and out using AquaTex. The treatment did wonders, not least for the zips, which were a little ‘dry’, but also for the colour as can be seen in the photographs. For those who want to be extra careful with their awning, it is a good idea to put a layer of white cotton sheet material between the windows and to remove the rubber rings before packing the awning away for the winter. Isabella does not recommend leaving an awning outside for three years in a row – the pictures shown here are only intended to illustrate the amazing effectiveness of Alpha 123 awning cleaner. |
