Isabella ready to face new challenges
The largest awning factory in Europe has started to effect a succession of generations
In this, its anniversary year, Europe’s largest manufacturer of awnings for caravans, the Danish Isabella factory, is speeding up the succession process which began when the company's founder, manufacturer Søren Odgaard, passed away two years ago. A number of organisational changes designed to prepare the company to meet the ever-increasing demands of caravanners are also being implemented. The process began with the employment of the experienced textile expert, Niels Foss, as Managing Director of the group. The organisational structure within the company, which is owned by a family foundation, has subsequently been structured as the Vejle-based factory gets ready to celebrate its 50th anniversary in April. The changes at the top of the organisation means that Ivan Odgaard assumes responsibility for the production
under the title of Group Production Director, while Morten Nielsen has been appointed Production Director. Peder Odgaard has been appointed Group Technical Dirctor. On sales, Carsten Dyg has been appointed Group Sales and Marketing Director, while Morten Kjeldsen is the new Sales and Marketing Director. At the Annual General Meeting held recently in January, solicitor Mogens Thyssen from Vejle, chairman of the Isabella Foundation, was replaced by Carsten Dyg, Group Sales and Marketing Director. With the succession process underway and the new organisational structure in place, the company has created resources that will help it to maintain its position as Europe's leading provider of quality awnings and accessories to the leisure industry, and to meet the myriad challenges of a globalized society. The remaining organisational structure continues unchanged, and existing contact persons remain in place.
