Experienced businessman in charge at Isabella

The person chosen to head the family-owned Isabella, Jydsk Camping Industri A/S in Vejle is an experienced businessman. Claus Astrup-Larsen was introduced to employees on 25 March as the future Managing Director of the largest specialist manufacturer of caravan awnings in Europe.

The 53-year-old Claus Astrup-Larsen comes from a position as group managing director of Hjem-IS Europa A/S. After 25 years in the food industry, Claus Astrup-Larsen is starting a new chapter in his career. As for his move to the camping industry, he has the following to say: “There’s obviously a huge difference between ice-cream and awnings, but both Hjem-IS and Isabella are the leading brands in their field.”

Claus Astrup-Larsen has a great deal of experience, both nationally and internationally. He worked as managing director of several large companies, including AarhusKarlshamn and Tulip Food, before moving to Hjem-IS. Last year, he also took over the position of Chairman of the Board of the cake manufacturer Bisca A/S, where he replaced Flemming Østergaard – better known as “Don Ø”.

“We’ve brought in one of the ‘heavies’ of Danish industry,” says Carsten Dyg, Chairman of the Isabella Foundation and Sales and Marketing Manager of the Isabella Group. His mission is to take Isabella safely into the future, thus ensuring the company’s success over the next many years.

Claus Astrup-Larsen looks forward to starting his job at Isabella on 21 April.
