Are you a passionate touring caravanner? Do you love travelling around at home and abroad and experiencing new places, cultures, languages and scenery?
As a tourer, you most probably appreciate being able to get to your next destination quickly and easily. That means your awning and equipment have to tick all the right boxes. They should be compact, weigh as little as possible, and be easy to set up and pack away again. Remember: if you’re heading for southern Europe, the ground is hard. So you’ll definitely need Tarzan pegs in your kit.
There are all kinds of touring caravanners, with different needs when it comes to awnings and equipment. So, what should you actually choose? Here, our product specialists offer their top tips for choosing your touring awning and equipment.
The perfect touring awning for people who don’t need very much space. We recommend it for couples touring without children. Magnum is a porch with a depth of 2.5 metres and is available in two widths: 3.4 metres and 4 metres. It’s quick to put up when you’re on the go, and has plenty of ventilation options to optimise the indoor climate for your holiday.
A particularly good awning for the “travelling permanent pitcher” who travels around, but usually spends at least seven days in the same place. The Capri is a highly breathable awning, and the overhang gives you various options for additional equipment, e.g. the Eclipse front sun canopy, Annex and Cosy Corner. Capri North is available with either a steel frame or the ultra-light CarbonX fibreglass frame.
We’ve brought Capri up to date for 2018. It’s Nordic-inspired in both colour and design – hence the name Capri North.
For adventure seekers who frequently move around from place to place. Sun Shine Plus is made of polyester to make it as lightweight as possible. The small number of poles makes it particularly easy to put up. Sun Shine Plus offers touring caravanners plenty of flexibility. If you buy a front set, where you zip two front panels together, you can easily transform the sun canopy into a lightweight touring awning (but without ventilation options or the option of mounting accessories).
If you already have a 2.5-metre Isabella full awning, the frame will fit Sun Shine Plus too. So you can simply buy a Sun Shine Plus awning canvas.
Do you need an extremely simple solution?
Shadow sits directly on your caravan, and you can have shade and shelter over your head in just three minutes. You can buy optional sides for both sides of the sun canopy to provide more shelter and shade. Shadow can also be used as a side canvas on the awning.
